Meet the Team – The People Behind Kingsleigh Developments
George Bailey | Director

I’m a family man with three daughters, sharing all the joys and challenges that come with raising them.
I’ve worked in construction for over 30 years, starting straight out of college after studying landscape and construction. My career began in the family business, working on large landscaping projects before moving into home extensions and new builds.
Building my business from the ground up, I’ve honed the ability to spot master tradespeople, creating a strong, reliable team and a trusted network. My approach is built on respect, people and quality, this allowed me to grow my business solely through recommendations. When I find an exceptional agent or tradesperson, they quickly become part of my extended team.
I founded Kingsleigh Developments to rejuvenate and enhance lost spaces. Too often, young people are forced to move further away from family to get on the property ladder—I know this all too well with three daughters of my own.
The solution isn’t just large-scale developments. We must maximise the spaces we have, restore forgotten buildings, and create smart, high-quality homes within existing communities. Housing shortages are real, and while large developments are necessary, we can reduce demand by repurposing underutilised spaces in a way that benefits the road and community.
Alex Durao | B.Arch, M.Arch, RIBA, ARB, OA | Architect

I have always had a passion for unlocking the potential in overlooked spaces, transforming properties and development sites across the UK.
Before moving to the UK, I practised as an Architect in Portugal, where I also served as a Director of a construction and project management company, specialising in high-end residential projects. With extensive experience in architectural design, project management, and construction, I ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while balancing community, environmental, and design needs.
Expertise & Approach
I studied Architecture at ULHT, Lisbon, followed by a Master’s in Refurbishment of Old Buildings and Urban Areas from FAUTL, Lisbon. My focus has always been on sensitive, sustainable development that enhances both the built environment and the communities it serves.
As a mentor within my architectural practice, I encourage collaborative learning, giving my team exposure to all aspects of project management, planning, building regulations, conservation areas, and sustainability.
Teaching & Industry Involvement
Beyond practice, I am actively involved in education and mentoring. I have designed and taught Architectural and Construction courses for industry professionals and regularly lecture on architectural design, construction drawings, and historic building conservation.
My teaching experience has taken me internationally, including two invitations from the Portuguese Government (2005 & 2007) to teach in Luanda, Angola as part of a government cooperation programme.
Alex D Architects, is part of the RIBA Student Mentoring Scheme, helping future architects gain real-world insights. We also participate in Inov Contacto International Internships, supporting young graduates as they take their first steps into the profession.
Jake O’Neil | MSc | Engineering

Director and Founder of O'Neill Engineering Consultancy Limited, I have over seven years of experience delivering structural engineering solutions for domestic and commercial projects across Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas.
I hold an MSc in Structural Engineering from City University London and am a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers. My expertise spans multistorey steel frames, bespoke one-off homes, and large-scale commercial developments.
I am committed to engineering excellence and innovation, ensuring every project meets the highest standards in design, efficiency, and safety. My approach is both personal and professional, offering tailored solutions to meet the unique challenges of each build.
Beyond the UK, I have also contributed to international projects, including the design of hospital facilities in Ghana—a challenging but rewarding experience that reinforced my passion for engineering with real-world impact.
